John is kidnapped and thrown into a dark room, unharmed and unbound. A while later, someone else is thrown in with him--but the sudden bright light from the door opening blinds John, so he can't get a good look at the person with whom he's now sharing the room. And whoever it is is either gagged or otherwise incapable of speaking, so they can't tell him who they are. That person is Jim Moriarty, and this was most definitely not one of his plans. That time John called Sherlock a machine, he was (unknowingly) telling the truth. He is an android, but doesn't know. But then something happens and he (and everyone else) finds out. This should be set in the canon universe, so no robot dogs running around or anything.
